Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 16, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Habitat collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use our website and services.

2. Data we collect

We may collect account details (such as name and email address), authentication information, usage data, and user-submitted content needed to provide the service.

3. How we use data

We use personal data to provide and maintain Habitat, authenticate users, improve product performance, communicate service updates, and help keep the platform secure.

4. Product analytics

With your consent, we use PostHog EU analytics to understand how people use Habitat, diagnose product errors, and improve onboarding and sprint workflows. We avoid sending raw sprint answers, chat messages, invite emails, or project names as analytics event properties.

You can grant or withdraw analytics consent from the dashboard. If you withdraw consent, Habitat stops sending new analytics events from your browser.

5. Legal bases

Where applicable, we process data based on your consent, to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, or for legitimate interests such as security and product reliability.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share data with trusted service providers who help operate Habitat (for example hosting and infrastructure providers), subject to appropriate safeguards.

7. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law or for legitimate business needs.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing activities.

10. Children's privacy

Habitat is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

12. Contact
